RENT

An electrifying rock musical about love, loss and survival, RENT captures young artists in early-1990s New York fighting to live boldly in the face of adversity, measuring life in love.

Bailey Theatre Company presents RENT, Jonathan Larson’s iconic and groundbreaking rock musical, inspired by Puccini’s ‘La Bohème’.

Set in the East Village of early-1990s New York, it follows a group of young artists navigating love, loss, and survival in the shadow of poverty and the AIDS crisis. As friendships are tested and passions ignite, they confront what it truly means to create, love, and live.

Driven by an electrifying score, RENT is a raw and powerful celebration of community, identity, and resilience – a modern epic about choosing connection in the face of adversity, and ultimately, measuring life in love.
