Roll on Michaelmas 2021!!

DST Freshers Play 2021: Pygmalion
Each year in Michaelmas term, DST produces a Freshers Play. This is a show entirely acted, directed, produced and teched by our 1st year members. Our choice for this year is George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion.
Pygmalion is the story “My Fair Lady” is based on and follows the story of Eliza Doolittle and Professor Henry Higgins, as he tries to teach her to pass for a duchess in society after making a bet. Higgins teaches Eliza airs, graces and a veneer of gentility, but everything is not as simple as it seems.
We’re super excited to have this show on in The Assembly Rooms in week 8, please do come and see the new talent in DST then!

How are we operating in COVID?
Our plans are always developing as we start this academic year but we are aiming to continue to put on shows with sensible COVID measures. We have numerous different approaches to our daily running in 2021. We will be continuing our test to participate scheme. Testing is required at least twice per week and no more than 48 hours in advance of participation. We have returned to full capacity live performances. We are also continuing online streaming, pre-recorded shows and audio dramas.
“Durham Student Theatre provides you with so many opportunities to let you grow as a creative. From videography to costume-making, there’s always a community or a company to demonstrate your talents. You all shape DST so push for what you want and let’s put on some amazing, unique, show-stopping productions!”
