Hi, I’m Lamesha and I’m a third-year History student at John Snow. In DST, you’ll find me producing, stage managing or teching shows. As President, my role encompasses aiding the everyday running and management of DST as a whole. This year as we try and transition back into a normal theatre year, I hope to help with the transition by providing any valuable information promptly. I am also here to help with any issues you may be having so please feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have any questions.
Hi, I’m Rachel and I’m a third-year maths student at Butler. My role is to send the weekly email containing all the opportunities for DST members and I manage the box office, among other things. I also run the general DST email account so if you have any questions or just fancy a chat, you can email me on [email protected].
Hi peeps, I’m Dragos, a 3rd year Psychology student. If you see me around any venue, I’m probably doing some form of tech, but I also have interests in cinematography, editing and voice acting!
My role is mainly focused around all things tech, which goes from the tech training, organising workshops, helping maintain the current tech and what I’d like to call “default” setup for this year. You’ll probably hear a lot more of me through the DST Tech weekly email which you can sign up at any of our training or drop-in sessions, or by sending me an email at [email protected]
Hi I’m Jodie and I’m so excited to be directing this year’s Durham Drama Festival! I’m an English student in my second year who can’t wait to get DDF back to its pre-pandemic heights as one of the biggest events in the theatre calendar. Overflowing with dramatic opportunities and boasting up to nine student written shows, please feel free to ask me any questions about this year’s festival at [email protected].
Hi everyone! I’m Catherine, a second-year English Literature student; and I’m your Workshops Secretary for this year. My role involves organising and promoting workshops at Durham – workshops that cover whatever it is within and about theatre that you’re interested in and would like to learn more about! If you’d like to propose a workshop, or have any questions about workshops and DST, then please feel free to contact me at [email protected].
First Night Editor
“Hi everyone! My name is Alexandra, and I am beyond excited to be the First Night Editor for this year – organising reviews, features, and newsletters. I’m a second year English and History student from Chad’s.
Covid made my first year in DST oh-so-delightfully-difficult, but I’ve been involved in casts, prod teams, and journalist crews so far. The only thing I love more than theatre is writing about theatre; I can’t wait to see what this year will introduce to the Durham stage. First Night is all about bringing recognition and evaluation to the diverse range of productions and companies that Durham showcases – our primary publication of theatrical journalism.
Everyone is encouraged to review for First Night – find the Facebook group to get involved and secure your press ticket for free. We are always looking for new voices!”
Hiya – I’m Jennifer, a third year Maths student from St Chad’s. Since coming to Durham, I’ve loved getting involved in a variety of shows and prod team roles, primarily as a Producer. As DST Treasurer, my main role is to budget for the year ahead and ensure the accounts are up-to-date. I also offer advice to theatre company Treasurers and Producers regarding grant applications, show budgets and anything else financial-related!
Hi! I’m Georgia, a second-year Maths student from Stevo! Most of what I do is running the DST social media and keeping things consistent and pretty! I also approve posters and work with the wider exec to keep things running smoothly! I love getting involved with all bits of theatre, with a special love for being in musicals and a place in my heart for stage management and wider tech. I’m super excited to be your Publicity Officer this year! Contact me at [email protected]
Outreach and Campaigns Officer
Ello Ello! I’m Flo and I am the Outreach Officer for this year! This is a newly revamped role for 2021, and I am so excited to begin reintroducing DST to the extended Durham community after the pandemic. My focus this year will be reconnecting old Outreach Projects, to share our creativity outside of the University once again and into the wider city and region. I hope to start up new projects, volunteering in schools, to counteract the ‘artists should retrain’ statement and to reawaken the magic of live theatre after it has been forcibly dormant for so long. I’m a second year Liberal Arts Student from Castle, if you need anything, or have any ideas or are just eager to get involved, drop me a message! [email protected]
Welfare & Inclusivity Officer
Hi everyone! I’m Jen and I am currently in my 2nd year studying BSc geography. I usually contribute to DST by acting but I have also dabbled in assistant directing over the last year and now I have this role!
The role of Welfare & Inclusivity Officer is brand new, and its main purpose is to ensure each and every member of DST feels included and supported through the highs and lows of theatre. For me this involves running regular welfare drop ins, recruiting a welfare team as well as being a reliable point of contact for all things welfare related so please if you have any problems at all do not hesitate to email me at [email protected] and I will help you as best as I can!
