Music Durham and RTProjects introduces Never Give Up, a variety show in aid of suicide awareness at the Assembly Rooms Theatre on Sunday.

This fantastic show came about through a chance meeting between Liv from Music Durham and Beano from RTProjects. While chatting about possibilities of working together, Beano played his song ‘What if? Never Give Up’. The song is part of the RTProjects suicide intervention project Never Give Up. Liv was inspired and instantly set to work contacting all the wonderful artists who will perform at the Never Give Up Variety Show.

They are all performing for free in support of the aim to raise awareness of suicide and to raise funds for RTProjects who work directly with people who are struggling with their mental health.  We have dancers, a brass band, a post-punk band, acoustic singers, opera singers, and even a magician!

The whole point of RTProjects is to use art to save lives and this song is an extension of that philosophy.  Beano’s dream is that a life may be saved by  ‘What if? Never Give Up’.

Suicide is a subject which needs to be talked about. So, what about you? What can you do? Well, you can come and see our wonderful show, and tell others what it was all about. Start that conversation.
